Election Results In
The long anticipated 6,000 ballots have been counted by the Humboldt Elections Office. Not much changed for the races where a number of variables could have shifted the landscape going into November.
In the Fourth District Supe race, Virginia Bass, who commands an astounding lead over incumbent Bonnie Neely and was 1.5 percent away from taking the primary outright, saw the gap to immediate victory grow. The final results.
- Virginia Bass: 47.37 percent
- Bonnie Neely: 31.68 percent
- Jeff Leonard: 20.59 percent
In the Fifth District Supe race, it was a toss up between Pat Cleary and Pat Higgins. Although Cleary had a 2 percent lead over Higgins on Election night, the gap grew, ensuring that Cleary will face off with Ryan Sundberg in November.
- Ryan Sundberg: 39.02 percent
- Pat Cleary: 30.90 percent
- Pat Higgins: 26.57 percent
- Jeffrey Lytle: 3.38 percent
In the District Attorney race, incumbent Paul Gallegos maintained his lead over Allison Jackson, and the two will surely have a contentious fight ahead into November.
- Paul Gallegos: 40.05 percent
- Allison Jackson: 37.07 percent
- Paul Hagen: 18.37 percent
- Kathleen Bryson: 4.38 percent
